Great Polar Bear Feast The extraordinary story of an annual gathering of polar bears on the frozen shores of Barter Island, Alaska, and its impact on the small Inupiat village of Kaktovik. Every year, up to 80 polar bears gather on this remote island to feast on whale remains left by local hunters. This extraordinary gathering is highly unusual not least because polar bears are known as solitary predators who rarely move in a group. With the support of leading scientists, this film follows two polar bear mothers and their young cubs.
