7-year-old Boston bombing victim dancing with new leg Four months after losing their youngest son in the Boston Marathon bombing, a Massachusetts family continues to mourn their loss while celebrating the recovery of another child who lost her leg in the attack.

Bill and Denise Richard recently returned to their Dorchester home with their 7-year-old daughter Jane, who now walks with the aid of a prosthetic leg.

“Jane continues to be an incredible source of inspiration — and exhaustion. The loss of her leg has not slowed her one bit, or deterred her in any way,” the girl’s parents said in a statement they released Thursday on the family website.

Jane continues to get used to her prosthesis but her progress has brought smiles to everyone around her.

“When she is able to have it on, she struts around on it with great pride and a total sense of accomplishment,” the Richards said. Watching their daughter dance on her new leg “is absolutely priceless.”

Jane’s progress has helped the Richards deal with the heartbreak over their loss of 8-year-old son, Martin, who was killed in the April blast.

“While we have made progress with our physical injuries, the emotional pain seems every bit as new as it was four months ago,” the couple said. “An hour doesn't go by that we don't feel the agony of Martin's death and the senseless way it came about.”
