Killing bulls with 30cm blade lances during Toro de la Vega fiesta in Tordesillas, Valladolid Toro de la Vega, celebrated in Tordesillas in Valladolid on the second Tuesday of September in honor of the patron saint of the town Virgen de la Peña Villa, is one of most ancient bullfight rituals in Spain, originated in the Middle Ages.
At 11am of that day a bull is released and chased by hundreds of humans down a street next to the main square of town to a bridge leading to an open field. Once the bull crosses the bridge hundreds of humans armed with a 30cm blade lances, chase him on horses or on foot, and when they get close enough they throw their lances at the helpless bull.
The bull tries desperately to get away from this agonizing torture, but he is repeatedly stabbed and battered until his flesh is torn and he heavily bleeds so he can no longer escape.
