Lalo Schifrin - Underground 1972 Music clips culled from the season 7 episode "Underground" 1972 of "Mission: Impossible" in which a gang of extortionists abducts Syndicate accountant Gunther Schell actor H.M. Wynant from a Sheriff car to make him reveal the location of a loot. Extortionist head Mr. Clavering actor Robert Middleton and his lieutenant Takis actor Carl Byrd meet IMF agent Jim Phelps actor Peter Graves—posing as runaway Dr. Brady—in a carousel in order to secure a transaction which will help him to travel to another country. Later on, drugged Jim awakes in a private clinic bedroom, verifies his hidden gadgets and picks the lock on the door in order to go down to the basement to insert a drug in the ventilation system so that Gunther Schell breaths it. Back at his bedroom while avoiding two henchmen, Jim is brought to the operation room to receive an injection administered by psychiatrist Dr. Hargreaves actor Peter Mark Richman and to undergo the psychedelic torture chair. Later on, Jim is escaped as well as Gunther Schell and he just picks him up with his gangster associates when the extortionist gang pops up to get the loot. The police arrives to nail the crooks.

Composer Lalo Schifrin writes a fast-paced street jazz-funk cue to start with and then slips into low-key gloomy melodrama dominated by a synthesizer, a piano, violins and brass. As soon as the leading character is back on his feet and on the way to sneak into the basement, Schifrin launches a steady percussion that will become the blueprint of the heist film score for "Charley Varrick" 1973. To illustrate the torture chamber, Schifrin adds distorted sound effects that include women voices and a drone produced by an analogue electronic machine with a 1950's texture. Moreover, Schifrin keeps on rearranging the series theme to adapt it to the various moods: see the grand finale with a fancy and groovy rendition of the theme. - Need for Speed Underground 2 Soundtrack №1Back it Up
